This would be an interesting development!

Laws that could be passed by the European Union could mean we'll be able to access content that is currently restricted to other countries.

According to the Irish Independent, the EU are trying to bring in legislation which will stop online services restricting access to people who are in other countries.

While the legislation isn't aimed at Netflix specifically, but it's to allow people who could be in another EU country to access services in their own country without being blocked.

For example, if you were on holiday in Spain, then you can access services that might only be blocked to Irish residents while you're away.

How they do it now is by using your IP address, which are used to pinpoint where you are.

There are ways around it, but Netflix themselves have all but closed every avenue.

However this proposed bill could reverse that, meaning that if it goes through the right channels then Netflix could be forced to give everyone in the EU access to the same libraries.
