He's done it again, Shane Long has saved the day, just like he did for Ireland at the Aviva last year to secure a position in the qualifiers of the European Championship.

The Striker bagged a goal for Southampton last night to secure them a sport in the EFL Cup final in Wembley next month against Hull or Manchester United.

The Irish striker came off the bench at half-time and sealed a 1-0 win, meaning the semi-final ended 2-0 on aggregate.

The Tipperary man soon jumped to the number one trend in Ireland and the United Kingdom on Twitter after finding the back of the net with this beautiful strike.

He made one of the best runs off all time, sprinting from one end of the pitch to the next, to score in the 90th minute.

As always, he seemed very gracious in the post match interview, speaking to Sky Sports and Southampton TV, he said "it was amazing, getting a win in the last minute and trying to hold out. It's an amazing feeling in front of our own fans".

See what else he had to say below.
