With the referendum on the 8th Amendment called for May 25th, we've been doing a series of articles on what you need to know regarding registering to vote.
So far, we have given you all the information you need when it comes to getting your name onto the Register Of Electors, and what your situation is if you live abroad.
In this piece, we'll be filling you in on what you need to do if you need to change your address.
Check The Register
Like with every piece we're doing in this series, the first thing you need to do is to check the register, which you can do so HERE.
If you have checked it, and you are NOT registered to vote, then you the instructions to get yourself registered onto the supplemental register can be found HERE.
Registered to vote, but need to change address
If you are on the register to vote, but you won't be able to vote in the local area which you are registered in, then you can change your address.
So if you are going home to vote, and you are registered at home, you do NOT need to change your addressed
To do so, you first need to download the RFA3 form
You need to fill in the form, and from Section 9 onwards must be filled in the presence of a member of the Gardai
You could also be asked for a form of ID (passport, drivers licence) at the Garda Station in order prove your identity.
Once the form has been filled in and the appropriate sections witnessed and signed by the Gardai, you must return the form either by post or hand-delivered to the local council office of which you will be voting in.
Like with registering to vote, all details must be in by Tuesday, the 8th of May.
