Penneys has denied recent reports of setting up an online service

Penneys says it doesn't have a commercial partnership with Amazon, while some products appear on the online store.

The fashion retailer claims third parties are reselling their products on the site for higher prices.

It comes after some newspaper reports that it had set up an online shopping service.

The prices being charged by independent sellers, in some cases, were almost double that of Penneys store price.

Customers responded to the company's tweet by suggesting that the retailer - which is called Primark outside of Ireland - launch an online offering.
