Some Penneys customers face a 5-hour wait to book an appointment to shop in stores from Monday.

It comes as businesses and consumers get excited about the easing of restrictions next week.

"My Socks Are Disappearing!"

Intercounty travel, religious services, adult sports training and visits to gardens are some of the things people are excited for from Monday.

However there's one shop that some cant wait to get back to, Penneys.

A woman on the street told us, "socks are becoming a problem!"

She says, "They're disappearing somewhere between the washing machine and the baskets."

Penneys along with all non-essential retail will reopen for click-and-collect and for appointments.

Retail Excellence Ireland Managing Director Duncan Graham says there is a lot of optimism:

"Nobody wants to be going back to where we were, so there's a real feel that this is the last time."
