Nearly all of the homeless families staying at the Gresham Hotel on O'Connell Street have been offered new short-term accommodation.

The 14 families were told they'd have to leave at the end of this month, as the hotel will no longer be accepting payments from Dublin City Council.

Inner City Helping Homeless say 13 of the families for alternative emergency accommodation.

ICHH CEO Anthony Flynn says they're still trying to hammer out a deal in regard to the remaining family yet to find accommodation, and are confident it will happen within the next 24 hours.

He added "A number of complex issues were on the table over the last few days and I am confident that the council will provide all families with alternative emergency accommodation. The end goal is that all families will be housed but in order to do so we need better supply in terms of builds."
