It happened at around a quarter to 7 yesterday evening.
A man has been seriously injured in an assault in Dublin's city centre.
Gardaí say the man who was assaulted is in his 20s.
He was attacked by a number of people on Townsend Street, just off Pearse Street.
The man was taken to the Mater Hospital for serious injuries.
The injuries are believed to be non life-threatening.
Gardaí are asking anyone who was in the area between 6:30pm and 7:15pm yesterday to contact them
