'Lockdown' is Collins English Dictionary's Word of the Year.
It was one of many Covid-19-related phrases in the top 10 words compiled by the dictionary, alongside the likes of social distancing and self-isolate.
Megxit, describing Harry and Meghan's decision to stop royal duties, and TikToker were other words which Collins listed in its top ten.

For it's winner though, it describes lockdown as "the imposition of stringent restrictions on travel, social interaction, and access to public spaces."
Other words associated with the mandeimic include key-worker and furlough.
BLM And Mukbang Among New Entrants
Meanwhile, BLM is also on the list, recognising the Black Lives Matter movement.
Collins defines the letters as an abbreviation for a movement that campaigns against racially motivated violence and oppression.
