She's set for a semi-final showdown on Thursday.

Dublin boxer Kellie Harrington is making her community proud after securing a medal at Tokyo 2020.

The Portland Row boxer is guaranteed at least a bronze medal as she's through to the lightweight semi-final.

She'll face her 2018 World Championship Final opponent, Thailand's Sudaporn Seesondee.

Back home, a community is full of praise for Harrington. Her mother Yvonne said she had trouble getting started.

"There were no girl boxers in the club, around here. She kept asking if she could get in, no no, eventually they god fed up and let her in."

Slews of signs, flags and bunting have been draped on the houses in the Portland Row area.

Childhood trainer Willie Dowdall said she's treated like a hero in the area.

"They just want to meet her, train with her," he said. "She does an awful lot of training with kids and that."
