The Health Minister has said he hopes we'll know when a referendum on the 8th Amendment will be held by the end of this week.
The referendum bill has passed through the Dail, with it due to be debated in the Seanad this week.
Simon Harris says he'll bring the bill before the House tonight and tomorrow to be debated by Senators.
He's added that all going well, he'll be able to announce a referendum for sometime in May by Friday.
It's been speculated that the government hopes to hold the vote on Friday, May 25th.
