A Carlow investor is blocking Conor McGregor's attempts to call his new whiskey brand 'Notorious.

The Irish Times says Seamus O'Hara has hired a Spanish Law Firm to block McGregor's attempt to register the trademark across Europe.

O'Hara has been selling a beer called Notorious Red since February last year.

McGregor debuted the whiskey after his multi-million euro boxing fight with Floyd Mayweather in August.
