Intercountry Travel, Hairdressers, Sports Training To Resume On May 10th

The Taoiseach has confirmed that there will be a major easing of easing of restrictions in the coming weeks.

Addressing the nation, Micheál Martin said a number of activities can resume in eleven days time.

From May 10th..

From May 10th the following activities can resume:

  • Intercounty travel
  • Galleries, museums, libraries will reopen
  • Click and collect and shopping by appointment
  • Personal services, like hair dressers and beauty salons can resume
  • Up to 15 people can meet outdoors
  • Fully vaccinated people can meet indoors with another household that's not fully vaccinated

From June 7th...

From June 7th further restrictions will ease. They include:

  • Unvaccinated households can meet indoors with one other household
  • Up to 25 people can attend a wedding perception

Other Updates

Up to 30 percent of everyone over the age of 16 has been given at least one dose of the vaccine.

Micheál Martin said the online portal has been and success and those aged 50 to 59 can register for the jab from next week.

In terms of business, the Taoiseach said they'll be able to claim double payments of the €5,000 a week CRSS.

He also said he hopes to see the aviation sector begin to reopen during the summer.

Concluding he asked the country to "stick to the strategy" and "continue to mind each other".
