Grumpy Cat Given Reason To Smile With $710,000 Copyright Settlement

Grumpy Cat has a reason to turn her frown upside down after being awarded $710,000 for copyright infringement.

The moggy became an internet sensation in 2012, and has been the star of countless meme's since.

An endorsement deal was signed with a US coffee company one year later.

Grenade Beverage LLC were allowed use the cat's image to sell its "Grumpy Cat Grumppuccino" iced drink a la:

But the company used the image to sell other purr-oducts as well.

 

As a result, a jury in California awarded the cat's owner $710,000 (around €572,544) in damages...seriously!
