Fans worldwide are celebrating and remembering the life of David Bowie today, one the year anniversary of his death.

The iconic singer passed away at the age of 69 after a battle with cancer.

He often described himself as a futurist, as you can see in this video from the BBC a few years back, when he predicted the internet would change the way music is listened to.

Last night a charity concert was held in London to remember the star. Simon Le Bon of Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet's Tony Hadley and La Roux were among the singers to perform.

Actor Gary Oldman led former band-mates and friends of Bowie on stage.

In Dublin a documentary will be screened in the Lighthouse cinema in Smithfield while a vigil will also be held in The Grand Social from 5pm.
