Senior officials from the Football Association of Ireland - including former CEO John Delaney - are set to appear before a committee in relation to a controversial €100,000 loan.

The money was given to the association by Mr. Delaney in 2017 and officials will be questioned by TDs and Senators.

The Oireachtas Sport Committee will also discuss the suspension of all future Sport Ireland funding to the FAI, governance at the organisation, and John Delaney's newly created role of Executive Vice President.

It is expected to run for about eight hours and it all stems from confusion over what the FAI board knew about the money.

FAI President Donal Conway will admit to the committee that the FAI breached Sport Ireland rules by not declaring the loan to it.
