Member States are looking at introducing the new measures.

The EU is taking steps to reduce fast fashion across countries in the EU bloc.

New regulations could force clothing companies to make items more durable.

The EU also want to impose regulations on high street chains so clothes are easier to repair.

It's all in an attempt to combat buying cheap items and throwing them away quickly.

Measures could be introduced to identify which items of clothing are recyclable or not.

The proposed plans include introducing regulations to make clothes out of recycled fibres.

Fashion designer Helen Steele says many designers have been seeking more sustainable fabrics in recent years.

"There's incredible change happening in the industry. There is bamboo rayon, u-circular fabrics, fabrics made from wood pulp."

"Fabrics have come a long way," Steele said. "Fabris here are definitely getting so much better. The hand feel is incredible."
