The month of October saw eight businesses across the country ordered to close after breaching food safety rules, with the affected businesses located in Dublin, Kerry, Cork, Limerick and Louth.

In Dublin, the Tasty Hut on Dorset Street, Diner Thai & Chinese Take-away in Ongar Square and Mi Thai in Stoneybatter were told to close their doors.

Closure Orders were also served to the Regent Inn in Drogheda, Speedo Pizza Kebab in Limerick, the Phoenix House in Cork and Mike Sheahan Butchers in Kerry.

These closure orders were given as a result of non-compliance with food legislation.

Meanwhile, The Zam Zam Kebab House of Mallin Street, Wexford was served with a prosecution by the HSE - the Food Safety Authority says in one case there was a widespread cockroach infestation throughout the premises.
