There are some new arrivals to the wildlife park in Dublin.

Dublin Zoo has welcomed a new species to its surroundings; five dholes.

They're also known as Asiatic wild dogs and are native to Central, South, East, and Southeast Asia.

The five dogs, which are all males, arrived from a zoo in Berlin in Germany.

According to researchers, the dhole likes to hang out in packs and is highly sociable.

In the wild, dhole packs can be as small as four or five but as large as forty.

They have been labelled as endangered, however, due to fewer than 2,500 of mature dholes being alive worldwide.

Ireland joins the likes of Thailand, India and Russia in housing the dog species.
