The Spire on Dublin’s O’Connell Street has been singled out as one of the “biggest eyesores” in Europe.

A list, compiled by Euronews, placed it at number five in their ranking.

So that was just after the controversial “Walkie-Talkie” building in London.

The Spire Divides Opinion

Back in 2003 crowds cheered in O’Connell Street as the final point of the 121 metre spire was installed.

Three years behind schedule and costing €4 million, the monument divided opinion 18 years ago.

...And The Award Goes To:

The Tour Montparnesse in Paris was voted the biggest eyesore.
