They say it's to combat pests and ripped bags.

Dublin City Council are trialing a new system for bin bags.

Residents will be given a 'collapsible' waste collector for use.

It'll replace those placing bin bags outside their door for collection.

The council say they've had issues with the likes of seagulls and rodents eating at waste.

The normal bags have been subject to wear and tear when left out.

The new 'collapsible' bin will be left outside just like a bag.

When collected, the waste person collapses the frame to give it back to the resident.
