A landlord has been forced to hand over properties in Mountjoy Square, Harold's Cross and Tallaght.

The High Court ordered him to do so after he forcibly removed tenants from one of the homes last weekend.

The tenants were living in a run-down property and had asked the Residential Tenancies Board for advice after being continuously harassed.

The landlord was also illegally increasing their rent.

Michelle Connolly from Dublin Central Housing Action says cases like this aren't unheard of.

She explains, "A lot of the time people start getting harassment from their landlord they start being pressurised to pay more rents, to accept various conditions, or to put up with behaviour from the landlord that's not really acceptable. Because that's so much hassle they move on."
