Dublin City Council and Google will measure the air quality over the next couple of months.
A specially-designed Street View car will be roaming around the capital for the next year, measuring the amount of nitrogen dioxide, carbon dioxide and monoxide as well particles in the air.
The local authority hopes the initiative helps to encourage more people to join the conversation around air quality.

Lord Mayor Hazel Chu says she is looking forward to learning more about the city:
"It's the first time the air quality will be properly measured by the Council."
"I think it's essential when we look at how our city will come out of Covid, and what kinds of planning need to happen."

"So moving forward this is going to be the five years of planning for the city."
