Donald Trump is expected to announce the recipients of his Fake News Awards at some point today.

The US President tweeted earlier this month to say he'd dish them out to sections of the press he thinks are the "most dishonest".

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">The Fake News Awards, those going to the most corrupt &amp; biased of the Mainstream Media, will be presented to the losers on Wednesday, January 17th, rather than this coming Monday. The interest in, and importance of, these awards is far greater than anyone could have anticipated!</p>&mdash; Donald J. Late night shows in the US have been lapping up the idea of the awards ever since Trump mentioned them.

Stephen Colbert had a giant billboard placed in New York's Times Square:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">So excited for Monday’s “MOST DISHONEST &amp; CORRUPT MEDIA AWARDS OF THE YEAR!” See you on the red carpet, <a href="https://twitter.com/andersoncooper?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@AndersonCooper</a>! <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/TheFakies?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#TheFakies</a> <a href="https://t.co/r8pYCj0g9r">pic.twitter.com/r8pYCj0g9r</a></p>&mdash; Stephen Colbert (@StephenAtHome) <a href="https://twitter.com/StephenAtHome/status/948765450946543616?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">January 4, 2018</a></blockquote>
<script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

While Trevor Noah took out a full page ad in the New York Times:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">.<a href="https://twitter.com/TheDailyShow?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@TheDailyShow</a> released a full page ad for Trump&#39;s &quot;Dishonest &amp; Corrupt Media Awards&quot; in today&#39;s <a href="https://twitter.com/nytimes?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@NYTimes</a>, with a note for the president: &quot;Show them you’re not semiliterate! Read page A7!&quot; <a href="https://t.co/a0WeSkdB1L">https://t.co/a0WeSkdB1L</a> <a href="https://t.co/jUkdLkg9US">pic.twitter.com/jUkdLkg9US</a></p>&mdash; Hollywood Reporter (@THR) <a href="https://twitter.com/THR/status/949291265950191617?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">January 5, 2018</a></blockquote>

Last year, the term "Fake News" was named Collin's dictionary's word of the year.

It appears it's not going anywhere any time soon!
