The EU Digital Covid cert has been extended until June 2023.

It was set to expire on June 30th of this year, but travellers will have to keep their vaccination status updated until then.

Most EU countries have scrapped the requirement to fill out a locator form to enter their country.

Editor of Air and Travel magazine, Eoghan Corry, explains the situation for those travelling into Spain and Italy.

"In Spain, they've extended the requirement for the Covid Cert because they're quite cautious and tourism is very important to them.

"If you're Googling a locator form for Italy, the first search result will try to charge you for it so make sure you never pay for them."

BOOSTER

Many people who received their first round of vaccinations last summer are now likely to have an out of date cert.

If that's the case, you need a booster shot to keep it up to date and that will extend the cert by another 9 months.

However, if you tested positive for Covid 19 in the last few months, you may still be outside the 3 month waiting period required to receive a booster.
