Covid 19: 683 New Cases, 18 More Patient Deaths

There are 683 new Covid-19 cases and 18 additional deaths.

Officials recorded 6 deaths in March, 7 in February and 5 in January.

There has been a total of 4,628 deaths and 232,164 confirmed cases here.

So 308 new cases are in Dublin, 68 in Donegal, 49 in Kildare, 35 in Meath and 30 are in Offaly.

There are 21 new cases in Limerick.

329 people are in hospital with the virus and 76 are in ICU.

Lowest And Highest Covid Incidence:

The county with the highest Covid 14 day incidence rate per 100,00 population is Offaly.

It's at 443.8 which is over twice the national average of 159.3.

That's followed by Kildare (249), Donegal (247) and Dublin (239).

At the other end of the scale is Kilkenny (33.3), Cork (43) and Kerry (48.7).

Finally, the National 5 day case average is 573.

 

Masks To Be Worn At Leaving Orals

Meanwhile, both the student and the interviewer will wear masks for the Leaving Cert Orals.

The State Examinations Commission has issued new advice for the tests, which start this Friday.

Also ,other public health measures will be in place.

Those include social distancing, Perspex screens, ventilation, cleaning and sanitation.
