2,066 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported today.
There have been 26 additional virus-related deaths over the past week.
408 Covid patients are in hospital, with 69 in intensive care.
The deputy chief medical officer, Ronan Glynn, says the incidence of Covid is 'high and rising'.
He says nearly 300,000 adults haven't come forward for vaccination and they're at high risk of becoming severely unwell.

The Taoiseach warned today that the pandemic has not gone away and people should remain vigilant.
Micheál Martin says everyone needs to stay on their guard:
"Over the course of the last seven days the rate of infection, the number of hospital admissions, and the rate of ICU admissions have all increased.
"The pandemic has not gone away and requires all of us to continue to be careful."
Tánaiste Leo Vardakar also said today that some measures, such as the use of the Digital Covid Certificate for indoor hospitality and events, may continue beyond October 22nd due to the number of people in hospitals and ICUs.
