Cork Murder Probe After Remains Of Man Found At Derelict House

Gardaí are launching a murder investigation after the discovery of a body at a derelict house in Cork City yesterday.

The man's body was found partially dismembered outside the derelict house on the Boreenamanna Road in Cork City about four o'clock yesterday.

He's yet to be formally identified, but is understood to have suffered a violent death.

A post-mortem examination is expected to take place today.

Gardaí have now started a murder investigation.

They've set up an incident room at Bridewell Garda Station in the City.

They're appealing for anyone with information to contact them or the Garda Confidential line on 1800 666 111.

Searches have been conducted in the area and door to door enquiries carried out as part of the probe.
