A new study how found that airport security is a breeding ground for bacteria leading to flu and other illnesses.
The report published in 'BMC Infectious Diseases' has found that the plastic trays where people put their belongings, such as shoes, belts, wallets, phones and dirty tissues, carry more bacteria than a toilet seat.
Experts are now recommending that hand sanitiser be made available for all passengers before and after airport security.
