The BRIT awards 2022 take place tonight live from London’s O2 Arena.

A whole host of famous faces are set to fill the venue where we can expect all the typical glamour of the music awards show, and some dramatic opening of envelopes.

We are also expecting thrilling performances, especially from the record-smashing Adele, who’s up for four awards.

Who’s Performing

Adele is not the only A-lister taking to the stage tonight.

We are in for a treat as Ed Sheeran and Sam Fender are also performing along with Liam Gallagher and Little Simz.

Last week, Doja Ca pulled out of her performance after some of her crew tested positive for covid.

While Anne-Marie and KSI are set to perform together.

New Host

Comedian Mo Gilligan takes up hosting duties for 2022, becoming the first ever black British host in the shows 45-year history.

Mo is taking over the reins from Jack Whitehall, who presented the awards for the past four years.

Former Radio DJ turned TV golden gal, Maya Jama, and Clara Amfo will host The BRIT Awards Red Carpet.

Yes, you read that right…Red Carpets ARE BACK!

The preshow kicks off at 7 pm on ITV2.

Inclusive Non-Binary Categories

The BRIT have gone woke this year, dropping the Male and Female solo categories instead replacing them with the more inclusive ‘Artist of the Year’ and ‘International Artist of the Year’ categories.

The move comes as we see more diversity across the musical landscape.

The non-gendered categories now mean that artists like Demi Lovato and Sam Smith, who identify as non-binary will no longer be excluded.

The popular UK music award show has also added four new categories, covering new genres. They are:

  • Alternative/Rock Act
  • Hip-Hop/Grime/Rap Act
  • Dance Act
  • Pop/R’n’B Act

All of which have been voted on by the Public.

Where To Watch

The Awards will be live at 8 pm tonight (February 8) on ITV.
