Taylor Swift's Miss Americana
Netflix have dropped the first official trailer for Taylor Swift's new documentary Miss Americana.
It sees her embrace her role as a songwriter and performer, 'and as a woman harnessing the full power of her voice.'
The trailer begins with Taylor preparing for a gig in her dressing room.
She gives herself a pep talk, "Just gonna go have fun."
"No one out there that I know of in the audience actively hates me."
Unconvincingly, Taylor tells her team that she's, "Totally ready," before she leaves the room.
The video goes dark to reveal the talent behind the making of the movie.
It's directed by award winning director Lana Wilson.
A series of clips from pinnacle moments in Taylor's career flash across the screen.
She's heard talking, "Throughout my career, label executives just say, "A nice girl doesn't force their opinions on people.""
Taylor reveals how they would tell her she should smile and wave and say, "Thank you."
The singer admits, "I became the person everyone wanted me to be."
Taylor steps out on stage to a crowd of thousands of cheering fans is shown.
Suddenly, the video shows clips of the media judging Taylor's every move.
Taylor takes some time to reinvent herself
Taylor is shown sitting on a couch, fighting back tears.
She shares, "Nobody physically saw me for a year. And that was what I thought they wanted."
"I had to deconstruct an entire belief system, toss it out and reject it."
Taylor soon learned to ignore the public's opinion and fight for her own happiness rather than the respect of others.
She explains, "I wanna do this. I need to be on the right side of history."
The media are heard reporting, "Taylor Swift is using her voice in a whole new way."
From this realisation came the creation of her song ME! with Brendan Urie.
"I feel really good about not feeling muzzled anymore and it was my own doing."
