Shaqira Knightly enters the world of theatre this September, in her new storytelling-dance-theatre show called GENESIS, where she transforms the stage into a futuristic queer pilgrimage that will bring all the most cultured club Queens to Dublin’s Lost Lane nightclub, for two amazing shows - and just before Mother Club kicks off at its home venue - running as part Dublin Fringe Festival 2025, in collaboration with Mother.

Shaqira’s GENESIS is an ‘exciting new show bursting with queer power’ and an invitation to abandon self-doubt and regenerate through dance. Revel in the transformative power of drag under the lights of a queer dancefloor. Come for the spectacle. Stay for the liberation. It’s Saturday night. Let’s dance.

GENESIS is the ‘kind of boundary-pushing, genre-defying work’ you’d expect at Dublin Fringe. So grit your teeth, shed your skin and dance to the electrifying beats. Bionic, stimulating & bare skinned, Shaqira Knightly embraces the power of self-belief through the art of becoming someone else.

Join Shaqira and friends after the show to dance it out with Ireland’s best queer club night, Mother.

Shaqira Knightly - Producer and Main Performer:

“Genesis is my story of queer power and rebirth. It’s a love letter to queer people that are in pursuit of their own true identity amidst all of the political and societal noise we face as a community. Join me and some incredible dancers as we storm the stage and rule the runway in a fierce expression of gender, sexuality and power. It's an all-out Saturday night celebration and a dance show like no other. Let’s party.”

Lisa Connell - Co-founder, Mother

“We’re thrilled to welcome GENESIS to the main stage of Mother at Lost Lane as part of this year’s Dublin Fringe Festival. It’s an exciting new show bursting with queer power and we’re proud of our drag sister, Shaqira Knightly. We are happy to champion this genre-defying show across two Saturday’s in September and support her to bring GENESIS to life.”

Bee Sparks - Festival Director, Dublin Fringe Festival

“We’re beyond excited to welcome GENESIS to this year’s Fringe. It’s bold, unapologetic, and utterly electrifying - exactly the kind of boundary-pushing, genre-defying work that Dublin Fringe Festival needs. Shaqira is an Irish drag icon, from her solo work to Haus of WIG, and we can't wait to see her shine in GENESIS.”
