Lizzie McGuire reboot: episode 1
The plot line for the first episode of the unreleased Lizzie McGuire reboot has been revealed.
Disney+ put the project on hold earlier this year over concerns for its adult themes.
The Hollywood Reporter shared the plot line in an article about the new streaming service this week.
They say the first episode, 'acknowledges the existence of sex with cheating as a central plot point.'
I think it's safe to say the Lizzie we knew in 2001 is all grown up!
Unfortunately for fans of the original series, the episode - which has already been filmed - may never see the light of day.
Disney+ want a more family friendly version of the show.
However this hasn't sat well with original creator Terri Minsky and lead actress Hilary Duff who both agree Lizzie's story shouldn't be told under the ceiling of a PG rating.

Terri leaves the project
Terri stepped away from the project earlier this year with Variety reporting she and her team were fired.
A Disney spokesperson released a statement to the publication at the time;
'After filming two episodes, we concluded that we need to move in a different creative direction and are putting a new lens on the show.'
Hilary released a statement of her own earlier this month pleading with Disney+ to move the reboot to Hulu instead.
This way, she could authentically, 'Bring this beloved character to life again.'
