The Golden era for TV is continuing into the next decade!

We've got brand new shows, reboots and movies getting the TV treatment in 2020.

Season 2 of Sex Education and After Life are both on the way in Q1.

We have spin-offs from Riverdale and Game Of Thrones to look forward to.

And Monsters Inc and Lord Of The Rings are swapping the silver screen for the TV screen next year.

These are the 10 TV shows out in 2020 that we're most excited for:

Sex Education (season 2)

17th January 2020 on Netflix

Otis, Eric, Maeve and the gang are back for a second season of the hit Netflix series.

We'll pick up where we left off with most characters however, there are some new kids in town. 

Viv, Rahim and Issac are sure to bring a range of new issues, sexual and otherwise, to Moordale High in season 2.

After Live (season 2)

Spring 2020 on Netflix

Filming is already complete on season two of Ricky Gervais' dark comedy After Life

While the plot has yet to be revealed, Gervais has hinted at the direction the show could take.

He previously confirmed that the final episode of season 1 held a clue.

And while speaking to Anne in the graveyard Tony said, “I’m going to carry on saying and doing what I want and punishing the world, but I’m going to punish people who deserve it."

"I’m going to use my superpower for good.”

Normal People

TBC on BBC Three & Hulu

Normal People is the hotly anticipated BBC adaptation of Sally Rooney's novel of the same name.

Just like the book the story will follow Marianne and Connell, two teenagers from the same Sligo town, but from very different backgrounds.

The plot will navigate their realistic love story as they grow and move through life.

Katy Keene

6th February 2020 on The CW Network

Kate Keene is an upcoming musical comedy-drama that exists in the same comic universe as Riverdale. 

The show will follow the love lives of four characters, including fashion legend-to-be Kate Keene and singer Josie McCoy.

Monsters At Work

TBC on Disney +

The Monsters Inc franchise is coming to the small screen in this Disney + adaptation.

Monsters At Work will take place six months after the events of the original 2001 movie.

The city of Monstropolis now runs on laughter and new character Tylor Tuskmon, a mechanic on the Facilities Team, has dreams of working alongside his heroes Sully and Mike.

Nine Perfect Strangers

Late 2020 on Hulu 

If you've got a Big Little Lies shaped hole in your life, if won't be there for long.

Hulu have ordered episodes of Nine Perfect Strangers the most recent novel from BLL author Liane Moriarty.

Nicole Kidman will star in the show that tells the story of nine people who gather at a remote health resort for a variety of reasons.

House Of The Dragon

TBC on HBO

House Of The Dragon is the first of many Game Of Throne's spin-offs on the way.

It's a prequel to the hit show, set 300 years in the past and centering on the ancestors of Daenerys Targaryen and the Dance Of Dragons civil war.

The show stars Naomi Watts and George R.R. Martin is working on the script.

Falcon And The Winter Soldier

Late 2020 on Disney +

Disney+ has big plans to attract Marvel fans to their platform with a number of planned spin-off shows.

Falcon And The Winter Soldier stars Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan as Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes once again.

The series will deal with the aftermath of Avengers: Endgame and (*SPOILER ALERT*) Wilson's now the proud owner of Cap's shield.

Lizzie McGuire

TBC on Disney+

Hilary Duff will return to our screens as Lizzie McGuire in 2020.

We'll pick up with Lizzie aged 30 and living in New York.

She's got her dream job, dream man, a gorgeous apartment in Brooklyn, but things aren't always as they seem!

The Lord Of The Rings

TBC on Amazon 

While a release date for the forthcoming The Lord Of The Rings TV show has yet to be confirmed, rumour has it we're getting a 2020 release date.

Amazon bagged the rights to J.R.R. Tolkien's series for $250 million back in 2017.

And the company have since confirmed that the story of the new show is set in The Age of Númenor, 3,441 years after The Fellowship of the Ring.
