It's not Christmas until you've stuffed your face with churros at a local market.

Packed with cute handmade decorations and mouth-watering food, there are plenty of Christmas markets dotted around the country that you can pop in for your fix while you're doing the shopping.

Here are the best markets around Ireland this month:

Galway Continental Christmas Market

Nestled in the middle of Galway's Eyre Square, you'll find about 50 wooden chalets packed with a wide array of food, drink and crafts from every corner of the world. This year, you can also take a spin on one of their many amusement rides including the 32 metre high Big Wheel, the Helter Skelter and the traditional Carousel.

Dublin Flea Market

This little market in Dublin's Docklands is a gem. It's full of the best up and coming Irish-based creators, start-ups and small businesses with a mix of artists, designers and craftspeople. You could find anything here from a cool retro t-shirt to a luxurious face mask - there really is something for everyone.
