Looking for something to do this weekend? There's a free festival on in the heart of the city that might tickle your fancy.

There's a celebration of Dublin's Creative Quarter happening this weekend with an end of summer festival. Dublin’s Creative Quarter is an area stretching from South William Street to George’s Street, and from Lower Stephen’s Street to Exchequer Street.

Running over the course of two days 26th (13:00-20:00) and 27th (12:00-18:00), there's a jampacked lineup of events such as on-street cooking demonstrations, fashion shows, comedy, pop up stalls from local businesses and even an out-door movie screening, and all for free!

The event takes place in locations around the Creative Quarter area including Fade Street, South William Street and Drury Street.

Bringing music to this event, First Music Contact, organisers of the Hard Working Class Heroes, have arranged 12 of Ireland's top emerging Irish talent to perform over the two days.

A number of businesses including Fade Street Social, Saba, Duck, The Market Bar, Wok In and Platform61 to name a few, are participating in this event by offering a special promotions throughout the festival for either €8, €10 or €12.  Creative Quarter tokens for these values can be purchased during the event from the DublinTown Information Kiosk on Fade Street.

Also taking place across the weekend are fashion shows that showcase looks from the independent boutiques in the area.
