Here are James Kavanagh's 5 Best Things to do in Dublin this weekend!

1) A History of Play @ Ground & First Floor Galleries

Do you sometimes feel like a childult? As in you love toys and playing? Then you'll love this. Artist Eamon O’Kane will transform the Ground Floor Gallery space into an interactive playful installation inspired by the educational play objects devised by educator and inventor of Kindergarten, Friedrich Fröbel. There'll be drawings, paintings and educational play materials known as Fröbel Gifts – colourful spheres, cylinders and tubes. These ‘gifts’ are used for unlocking creativity at an early age by teaching children about three-dimensional shapes and colours and their relationship to the environment and nature. People of all fitness levels, ages and backgrounds are encouraged to attend, and if fitness is not your thing, that’s grand, you can still have a lovely day checking out the food demos, listening to some of the amazing speakers, attending seminars and treating yourself at the WellVillage marketplace. Gorge. More info: https://wellfest.ie/

4) Darkness Into Light, Saturday @ Phoenix Park

Fancy walking & helping those suffering with mental health issues? Darkness Into Light is Pieta House’s flagship annual fundraising and awareness event. It started with 400 people in Dublin’s Phoenix Park in 2009. Last year there was 130,000 people sharing the light, promoting suicide prevention tackling the stigma that leads people to the doors of Pieta House centres. More info: http://dil.pieta.ie/

5) Nadia Rose, Friday @ The Sugar Club

Nadia Rose is a 23-year-old Croydon rapper (making big waves rn) who brings her own versatile flow to a thriving genre, describes her music as ‘bassy, hard-hitting, dancehall, hip-hop infused fun' and says she was heavily inspired by old school reggae and MCs like Lil Kim.
