One of the biggest basketball events of the year is back this month thanks to Hula Hoops.

The Hula Hoops 3x3 National Basketball Championships returns for it's second year on Saturday May 18th.

Sixteen teams of three players will take to Bray Seafront for the 3x3 format game.

The teams competing this year include men's teams Templeogue, Maree, Ulster University Elks, IT Carlow, Kubs, Lions and Fr. Mathews.

Women's teams include DCU Mercy, Fr. Mathews, Killester, Ulster University Elks, IT Carlow, Templeogue, Liffey Celtics and Marble City Hawks.

Ambassador UCC Glanmire are the current reigning women's champions from last year's inaugural event.

DCU Saints also picked up the men’s title last year.

It's set to be a brilliant day of basketball with some of the best players in the country taking part. 

Teams will first take part in a group stage, with the top two teams from each group making the semi-finals.

The fun kicks off at 9:30am on Bray Seafront on Saturday May 18th.

Admission is also free on the day.
