All You Need To Know Ahead Of U2's Croke Park Gig This Weekend

U2 are bringing their sold out Joshua Tree Tour to Croke Park this Saturday 22nd July. 

The show marks 30 years since they made a memorable return to their hometown with the original Joshua Tree Tour, playing two very special sold out shows on Jones’ Road in June 1987.

Ahead of the concert, MCD has released some important information. 

Doors open at 5pm, with Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds taking to the stage for 7pm. U2 are due to arrive on stage at 8.30pm. 

Fans are being advised to not to bring large handbags or backpacks into the venue and thatt there will be no cloakroom facilities there.

Other prohibited items include glass or cans, umbrellas, alcohol, garden furniture, selfie sticks and flares.

Gardaí are asking people to use public transport where possible. There'll be extra Irish Rail services running on DART and Commuter routes for fans while you can use the Luas Park & Ride options on both the Red and Green lines.

There are a few different approach routes, all outlined below. Fans are being reminded to check their tickets before hand and make sure to go to the correct entrance: 

  • HOGAN STAND VIA JONES ROAD AND RUSSELL STREET – BLUE ROUTE CUSACK SEATS, PREMIUM & PITCH 1 & 2 RED ROUTE TICKETS
  • VIA ST JAMES AVENUE AND FOSTER TERRACE – RED ROUTE
  • DAVIN STAND VIA ST MARGARET’S TERRACE – YELLOW ROUTE
  • PITCH 2 GREEN ROUTE TICKETS VIA ST JOSEPHS AVENUE – GREEN ROUTE
