The book

An excerpt of the book was published in the French magazine Closer earlier this month.

According to Page Six, it details a number of shocking moments from the heist.

The alleged thief recalled how he had bumped into a police officer moments after the robbery took place, but they didn't suspect him of anything.

While escaping the scene, Kim's phone started ringing inside a bag of items they had stolen.

When he picked it up, he was shocked to see Tracy Chapman's name appear on the screen.

Abbas said he remembered thinking, 'It’s not possible. I must be hallucinating.'

'She's not my generation'

The thief had no idea who Kim Kardashian was, and wasn't aware of her level of fame.

In an interview with Le Figaro newspaper, he said that while he knew she was a star, he had no idea how famous she was.
