Taylor Swift and Liam Payne have been named the most influential Twitter users of 2018.

Brandwatch released this year's list alongside their 'influencer score', which rates celebrities out of 100 on their ability to influence.

Swift was named the most Influential Female user even though she only tweeted 13 times this year, taking the top spot ahead of Kim Kardashian.

She was given an 'influencer score' of 98/100 and was followed closely by her former rival Katy Perry who got 96/100.

Demi Lovato and Ellen Degeneres also made the top 5.

Liam Payne was crowned  the most influential male ahead of  US president Donald Trump.

Justin Bieber and Barack Obama also appeared on the list.

The list is compiled by looking at levels of genuine engagement Twitter users have with various celebrities' tweets.
