Matthew MacNabb leaves the Love Island villa

Matthew MacNabb was dumped from the villa on last night's episode of Love Island.

In his exit interview, he admitted he had a thing for Millie but never pursued it because of her relationship with Liam.

Matthew was asked if there could have been a romantic connection with any of the other girls.

He admitted, "I felt like it was pretty much Kaz from the start."

"I did like Millie if I’m honest but I didn’t want to get involved in that situation and I’m happy I didn’t because we’re good friends and I love Liam."

He also reckons Liam and Millie have a strong chance of winning Love Island 2021.

Matthew said, "I think Jake and Lib, Millie and Liam have the strongest connection."

"You see in the villa first hand just how close both of those couples are."

The Islander also touched a bit on his relationship with Kaz, "I felt me and Kaz had a really good connection."

"She’s an amazing girl and I think we’re going to be great friends."

"The more I saw her and Tyler, they had so much of a better connection than me and Kaz had so I’m happy for both of them because they’re great people."

Matthew was also asked how he felt when Priya chose to recouple with Brett over him.

"It definitely took me by surprise," he admitted.

"I felt like she was honest with me at certain times and then she wasn’t at other times."

"I only knew her for a certain amount of time and you can’t understand a person fully in that time."

Matthew added that he's incredibly proud of himself for taking part in the show.

"Ultimately, the outstanding emotion I get is that I’m proud," he said.

Matthew continued, "I feel proud of the journey I went on and I stayed true to myself."

"I met some amazing people there that I’ll be friends with for life. I feel very positive about the whole situation, I’m happy."

When asked what he's learned about himself since entering the villa, he said, "I’ve learnt that my principles can’t be broken."

"I’ve definitely become a better person and I’m open to change."

No regrets

When asked if he would have done anything differently looking back, he said, "I’m a no regrets type of guy."
