Love Island's Alex Miller Says Producers Saved His Life After The Show

Alex Miller 'fell off the cliff of reality fame'

Love Island 2018 contestant Alex Miller admits show producers really saved his life.

He's opened up about his struggles following the death of Love Island 2017 cast member Mike Thalassitis.

The show has been getting a lot of stick lately from critics who believe Love Island should offer after care to Islanders.

Alex however, has defended the show admitting it saved his life.

Speaking Access All Areas Miller said, 'I was in a dark place. It was winter time, there was a lot of factors coming up...'

'Knowing that everything was sort of coming to an end like getting back into the old routine in the job.'

Miller was asked whether this dark patch was a direct effect of the show.

He responded, 'It was going back into the reality bit of - this is what I am back into now.'

'Everything has died a death, you've fallen off the cliff of reality fame. It's not what it is cracked up to be.'

A Love Island producer saved his life

Alex admits a producer from Love Island got in touch after he posted a lengthy rant on Instagram.

'I went through a bit of a dark patch and luckily one of the producers follow me on Instagram saw the rant got in touch with me and put me back in touch with a psychiatrist.'

'Looking back, all I needed to do was be forward and go talk to them.'

He admits, 'I didn't want to talk to anyone about it...'

'Speaking to the Love Island psychiatrist, it got me through it and gave me a plan on how to take my life forward.'

'Now we're here. We're all good!'

Alex says it's 'impossible' for the show to keep an eye on all of their contestants.

'They can't be pro-active all the time and keep chasing and keep chasing.'

'There are so many contestants, it's impossible for them to do.'

Alex starred in the 2018 series of Love Island

Alex Miller entered as one of the new boys in the villa when the originals were sent to Casa Amor to meet the new girls.

He had eyes for Megan Barton Hanson straight away.

He managed to woo Megan and she ended up coupling up with him.

However, it all took a turn for the worst when her former flame Wes Nelson came back from Casa Amor and won her back.

Alex Miller isn't the only former Love Island contestant to defend the show.

2017 star Olivia Atwood has also claimed the show saved her life.
