Kanye West has apologised for comments he made about slavery, a little more than three months ago.

Back in May, during an interview with TMZ, Kanye said "When you hear about slavery for 400 years—for 400 years? That sounds like a choice." The comments made headlines across the world, with many being outraged.

On Wednesday, Kanye said sorry for the comments he made. The rapper appeared on Chicago radio station WGCI 107.5 and addressed the incident.

"I don't know if I properly apologized for how that slave comment made people feel, so I want to take this moment right now to say that I'm sorry for hurting, I'm sorry for the 1-2 effect of the MAGA hat into the slave comment and I'm sorry for people who felt let down by that moment."

He also thanked the radio station for giving him the opportunity to talk to them.

Kanye added "One thing I got from the TMZ comment is it showed me how much black people love me and how much black people count on me independently."
