Kyoto Love Hotel
This week's Plan B One To Watch is Irish electronic pop duo Kyoto Love Hotel.
The due have just released their latest track Machine.
The band is made up of Joe Geaney and Laura Sheary, who grew in the same town in Tipperary.
However, now they share ideas and create music with one another from their homes in Cork and Belfast.
Due to this, the duo said lockdown didn't affect their music-making too much, as they're already used to working at a distance!
Speaking about the track, Laura says;
“the repeated line ‘there’s water in my ears now’ is very literal. My ears were blocked for weeks after swimming in the sea and I felt really detached for that period of time - as though I was floating above my own body, watching it in action in this strange way. Parts of the song explore what it means to have a body, a mind, and the anxiety that can sometimes take hold when the two don’t connect. More often than not, it’s the sea that washes this anxiety away and reminds you of the beauty that exists in the unknowable”.

Machine will be officially available for listening on all platforms from this Friday 7th
Laura and Joe have performances at Other Voice, Electric Picnic, Output Belfast and Whelan's under their belt, along with numerous gigs around Ireland and abroad.
Most notably, they performed at The New Colossus Festival (New York) back in March, just before everything came to a stop.
