2015's Equality Marriage Referendum

On May 22nd 2015 Ireland voted Yes in the Marriage Referendum to allow same-sex marriages.

The day was monumental in more ways than one. The law changed and it brought a sense of acceptance to so many.

On the day, a photo from Dublin Castle went viral. It was picked up all around the world and became a symbol of the special day.

The photo is of Spin's own Paul Bonass and his boyfriend Luke as they celebrated they results.

Paul joined Sarina on Saturday's Plan B to reminisce on the special day and tell the story behind the balloons.

From making it through the campaign, canvassing, losing the 'S' and then being shared in worldwide media.

Paul also shared what the day meant to him and how things have changed in the last 5 years.
