Over €250,000 Of Suspected Cannabis Seized In Finglas

A man has been arrested after the discovery of drugs and a cash sum in Dublin 11.

Yesterday morning, Gardaí stopped a vehicle on the M50 in Finglas.

During a search of the vehicle, they discovered over €250,000 worth of what is believed to be cannabis, along with €6,000 cash.

A man in his 40s was arrested at the scene, and his is currently being held in a Garda Station in North Dublin.

The drugs will be sent for analysis by Forensic Science Ireland, and investigations are ongoing.

This seizure was carried out as part of Operation Tara, which aims to disrupt and prosecute drug trafficking networks, - international, national and local - involved in the importation, distribution, production, local sale and supply of drugs.

The search was conducted by Gardaí attached to the K District Drug Unit.
