Bike delivery drivers in Dublin are protesting against violence they face on the job.

The demonstration will address issues such as bike theft, low wages, and mistreatment.

The route will start at 4pm from D'Olier Street and end at Stephens Green via Stags Head and Harcourt Street.

Sinn Fein's Louise O'Reilly wants the Gardaí to listen to the courier's concerns.

She said: Members of An Garda Síochana need to engage with the riders and need to actually talk to them about what's going on and how best that they can be protected.

"The riders and delivery personnel want to know that their specific concerns will be listened to by An Garda Síochana.

"Sometimes they will say that when they go to report their bike being stolen, that maybe they don't feel it's been taken seriously and I think that that needs to stop."
