Second vaccine approved in the UK

The Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine has beceme the second coronavirus jab to be approved for use in the UK.

It's been called a 'game changer' as it's easier to store and transport and is cheaper to produce.

The UK medicines regulator says the vaccine has met its "strict standards of safety, quality and effectiveness".

Plans are now being put in place to roll out the new vaccine across the UK.

Ireland is set to receive 3.3 million doses once it's approved by European regulators.

But they've asked for more data to be provided - and it's unlikely to get the green light next month.

However, EU regulators could make a decision on the Moderna jab as early as next week.
