The British Embassy has confirmed that those travelling from Ireland to the UK do NOT have to take PCR tests as mandated by the UK Government.

All other travellers coming into Britain will have to take a PCR test and self-isolate until they get a negative result.

However this does not apply to the Common Travel Area (CTA) between the Republic and the United Kingdom.

The Foreign Affairs Minister Simon Coveney has welcomed the news and the British Embassy has published up to date guidance on travel.

Yesterday, two new cases of the new Omicron variant were reported in the UK.
