A teenager suffering from anorexia has told how she had to sleep on the hospital floor while trying to get treatment.

New figures show funding was put in place for 20 eating disorder staff last year but this was less than half the 47 promised by the government.

The lack of public services means many of those suffering have to seek help in emergency departments.

17 year old Sarah describes her experience.

"We had to go to A&E because the doctor at CAHMS sent me."

"I was hooked onto a drip because I was so weak I passed out and threw up."

"When I came to they said they were going to find a bed for me."

"But there was no beds so I had to sleep on the floor."

"I literally had a jacket over me as a blanket."

"So I was still hooked to the drip and sleeping on the floor, just waiting for a bed."

"They didn't give me a bed until like midday the next day."

Sarah's name has been changed in this article to protect her identity, she was speaking with permission from her mother.
